Agartala, Aug 31, 2011 : A film festival, titled, “Tagore on Celluloid and MIFF in Tripura” is going to begin here on September 1 next.
The film festival would be organized under the aegis of Films Division, and in collaboration with government of Tripura and Cine Delve.
The four day festival is going to screen 23 short films and documentaries, said Sumoy Mukherjee, Branch Manager, Films Division; Kolkata here in a press conference.
Subhasis Talapatra said entry cards could be collected from the office of the Cine Delve and from the office of Tripura Darpan.
The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in presence of Dr Prafullajit Sinha, Chairperson, Agartala Municipal Council (AMC).
During the festival, six documentaries on Gurudeb Rabindranath Tagore will also be screened on the opening day and on the other three days 17 selected award winning films of Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films (M.I.F.F.) will be screened. The fest will close on September 4.
“MIFF in Tripura” is a festival of award winning films from the ‘Mumbai International Film Festival for documentary, short and animation’, which is held biennially at Mumbai. “MIFF in Tripura” will also showcase some of the finest cinematic works realized in the last eight years throughout the world.
