Agartala, Sep 03, 2011 : Tripura government has taken initiative for massive land distribution. As part of this policy government will provide land for the landless people of the state, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
Inaugurating the ‘e-jami’, services, an online facility for land records, status of the land and other related information through a website for West Tripura district here at Agartala Town hall on Saturday the chief minister asserted that the state government would completely computerize the administrative network across the state.
At first phase, all the BPL families would be provided with land along with all basic amenities of life, said Sarkar adding that so far a total of 1.5 lakh families have already been provided with land and 1.5 lakh families more would also be covered in coming days.
‘Tripura is the first state in the country to have given land deeds to 1.19 families of tribal under Forest Right act’, said Chief Minister.
Government is also planning to provide them all the basic amenities.
He laid emphasis on the accuracy of fact and figures provided in the portal, so that the cases related to land disputes would be reduced.
