Agartala, Aug 04, 2011 : A national level workshop on ‘Bamboo Plantation and Value Addition’ would be organized by Tripura bamboo Mission here at Prajna Bhavan from Friday next.
Agriculture Minister Aghore Debbarma will inaugurate the workshop, where top officials from centre and the state, policy makers, scientists, manufacturers, exporters, designers etc will participate.
Tripura bamboo Mission’s (TBM) Director V G Jenner in a press statement said, the workshop would be organized with the objectives to provide a platform for a wider range of discussion and information dissemination on Bamboo plantation and value addition.
He said, during the three days workshop, Tripura forest Minister Jintendra Chaudhury would be present on the opening day along with his the Forest Minister of Mizoram, H Rohluna and Director General of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dr V K Bahugana.
On the concluding part of the workshop on August 7, the TBM organized a ‘field visit’ programme in various parts of the state.
