Agartala, Aug 25, 2011 : In a minor administrative reshuffle, three district magistrates of Tripura have been transferred on Thursday.
Official sources said, J K Sinha, District Magistrate (DM) of West Tripura district has been transferred and posted as Special secretary of Rural Development department and in addition he will look after the charges of General Administration (personnel and training).
The incumbent DM (Dhalai district) Kiran Gitte has been transferred as new DM of West Tripura district.
Kiran Gitte was SDM Dharmanagar in 2008 where he took major initiatives to improve citizen services through e-Suvidha, computerized land records and Lok Adalat. During his tenure, the citizens could receive PRTC within 3 days. The Public Distribution System (PDS) was streamlined and FP Shop Dealers started issuing Money Receipts, which is now being replicated in other Sub-Divisions in the State.
Highly placed sources in the administration said that the transfer of Gitte as DM (West) reflects the state government’s initiative to tone up the administration in West district. It was during his brief tenure as chief executive officer (CEO) of Agartala Municipal Council (AMC) that Gitte had infused new life and blood in the sluggish municipal administration.
Abhishek Singh, at present holding the charges of ADM for Dhalai district and project Director of DRDA, has been transferred as new DM of Dhalai district.
M L Dey, the incumbent director of Social Welfare department, will look after now the charge of DM (South).
The present DM (South) Samarjit Bhowmik has been transferred as new Director of Social Welfare and Social Education department and in addition he will also be assigned as Director Mission of NRHM.
