Agartala, Aug 01, 2011 : High profile North Zone of Agartala Municipal Council comprising 9 wards will get safe drinking water by November, 2012.
“For this, the Civic body has initiated a project worth Rs. 78 crore”, said AMC Chairperson Dr. Prafullajit Sinha on Monday.
The project is being implemented under centrally sponsored JNNURM scheme. The NBCC has been working on it.
“It will put up new pump houses and lay pipe lines in the area where Civil Secretariat, Assembly House, High Court, Governor House and several other offices are located”, Sinha added.
“The sewerage project of Rs. 102 crore in the North Zone is also all set for implementation soon”, said the Chairperson over telephone.
Meantime, the Asian Development Bank has sanctioned Rs. 200 core for South and Central Zone. Urban Development Department is looking into the project. It is expected to be completed by 2015.
