Agartala, Jul 06, 2011 : On Monday midnight police got Prabir Das Chouwdhury, to hospital in view of his ‘deteriorating’ condition. The former policeman, who had once led police movement in Tripura, resorted to fast unto death to press for some demands relating to policemen of the state. He was on fast for the last four days in front of Congress Bhawan.
At around 2 am on Monday-Tuesday night a contingent of police personnel led by additional SP Kamal Chakrabarty and OC west Agartala Police Station Manindra Chakrabarty arrived in front of the Congress Bhawan and took Das Choudhury to G B Hospital. SDM sadar Moselmuddin was also present during the raid.
In hospital Das Choudhury was administered saline.
Latest report said due to his ‘critical’ condition he is being shifted to Kolkata.
While he had started fast, he was accompanied by a dismissed SPO jawan. He had earlier been admitted in hospital.
