Agartala, Jul 14, 2011 : Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed condolence at the death of Papai Saha who had been shot dead by TSR on July 11 violence.
In a fax message to the bereaved family addressed to Papai’s mother Shukla Saha Gandhi said, “I have no word to share the agony of your family and I am assuring you that the entire Congress party with you, the martyrdom of Papai Saha will not go in vain”.
She also lauded the movements launched by PCC in recent times under the leadership of Surajit Datta against Left Front government’s misrule in the state.
“I extend full support to the each and every Congress-man in the state in their struggle against brutal and barbaric role of the ruling CPI (M) led government”, said Gandhi in another fax message to PCC president.
She also condemned the assaults on Congress workers.
Criticizing the role of LF government in Tripura, Gandhi said, ‘the attacks of Congress workers and party headquarters, is an attack on democracy’.
