NSUI to continue agitation against TMC

Agartala, Jul 05, 2011 : With the state government turning a blind eye, NSUI continued its agitation seeking admission of rank holders from the Joint Entrance Examination list in Tripura Medical College.

At around 8 am on July 5, hundreds of NSUI activists led by state president Vikki Prasad gathered in front of the official residence of Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty and shouted slogans against the whimsical stand taken by the state government.

The NSUI supporters also sought to hold a talk to the Minister over cancellation of admission notification for TMC. But the Minister refused, causing widespread resentment among the demonstrators.

A large contingent of Police and TSR rushed to the spot on receiving the information and dispersed the agitators.

Police brought the NSUI activists at police reserve and released them hours later”, Police said.

Speaking on telephone Prasad alleged that CPM controlled state government want its party followers to get admitted in TMC.

Terming it as anti-people stance Prasad said, “Our agitation will be continuing in the days to come”.
