Agartala, Jul 05, 2011 : Tripura government banned operation of Madhurai Kamraj University in the state. The order was issued by Higher Education department of Tripura government.
As per the government order the Madhurai Kamraj University would not run any study centre in Tripura. The order made it clear that if the university issued any graduate and post-graduate level certificates it would be a case of ‘direct violation’ of UGC’s norms.
MK University does not have any legal documents or approval to running a study center in Tripura, said Dr B Palit, Director of Higher Education Department adding that even MK University had also violated the guidelines of UGC as well as a Supreme Court standing order.
Dr Palit pointed out that in a PIL at Supreme Court filed by Professor Yashpal, an eminent Scientist and former Chairman of UGC, the apex court had given a judgment that no state university would open any study centre in other state of the country. He said, the HE department would also ban all such state universities functioning in Tripura as per guidelines of UGC and Supreme Court order.
In Tripura it was seen in the last few years that several government employees including police personnel enjoying the department promotions by acquiring the diploma, degree and post-graduate degree from Madhurai Kamraj University.
Dr Palit also said that H E department informed the Home department about the recent order.

I complete my +2 during year of 2010 at Tripura mku study center. but I received my mark sheet 09.06.2011. Now I am taking admission higher study (bhm,MBA) in other state. And my question futures may eligible tripura government job or not.

U should admission any university which is recognized by UGC.Bcause these type of froad university issues certificate to the employees for promotion....that's why state government take strong action..
