Agartala, Jul 18, 2011 : The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Monday announced the names of block Congress presidents to strengthen anti-CPM movement in Tripura in order to oust the Left Front government in 2013 assembly polls.
PCC President, Surajit Datta released the names for ‘president of block Congress committee’ for 57 assembly constituencies barring three constituencies of the state.
As per Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) list, the names of the block presidents were not declared for the constituencies of 6-Agartala, 8-Bardowali and Bishalgarh as MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Asish Saha and former PCC president Samir Ranjan Barman had not put forward any name for the posts despite being repeatedly requested by the PCC president Surajit Dutta.
It may be recalled here that, AICC’ Secretary Dr K Jayakumar had instructed the PCC president to declare the names of block presidents before July 21.
In addition, PCC has also declared five additional names as ‘working president’ for the constituencies of Teliamura, Radhakishorepur, Santirbazar, Rajnagar and Yubarajnagar.
