Agartala, Jul 16, 2011 : Tripura Medical College (TMC) declared the results for Common Entrance Test (CET) for the courses of MBBS and B Sc (Nursing) on Thursday evening.
TMC sources said, altogether 341 candidates secured pass marks for 85 MBBS seats and more 127 students enlisted as success candidate for 60 B Sc (Nursing) seats.
TMC society chairman and principal secretary of Health department, S K Roy said, the counselling for MBBS and B Sc (Nursing) course would begin from July 18 next and admission process would be completed by the end of July 31 next. The first year classes would begin from August 1.
Meanwhile, state’s premiere competitive coaching centre, School of Science (SOS), once again dominated the merit list of TMC’s CET.
Principal Abhijit Bhattachrajee said, about 50 percent of ‘state quota’ seats have been secured by the candidates from of School of Science including topper in ‘general category’ merit list.
Giving details of the result, Bhattacharjee said, Rabisankar Datta, a school of science candidate with 81 marks topped the merit list for MBBS in general category.
Altogether 15 students from SOS secured merit position for MBBS course from general category and five each student from Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) categories also enlisted in the merit lsit, said Bhattacharjee.
He said, two more students from his institute Nishtha Das and Sudeshna Debbarma secured third positions in SC and ST merit list respectively.
