Agartala, Jul 12, 2011 : Tripura government ordered a ‘Magisterial enquiry into the death of a civilian in TSR firing during Monday violence.
Official sources said, District Magistrate (West) J K Sinha will investigate the killing of Papai Saha in particular and violence in general in which several others including Congress leaders, and policemen, TSR jawans were injured.
Meantime, in view of the controversy relating to his role during TMC CET officer-in-charge of College Tilla Outpost, Jahangir Hussain has been ‘closed’. He was asked to stay away from his duties as OC of the out post. News media here had placed a demand for his immediate removal from the position for his alleged brutality committed on journalists on duties.
Meanwhile, DGP K Saleem Ali also reported to have entrusted IGP (law and Order) K Nagaraj to investigate the incident on July 10 last in which 11 media personnel were assaulted by police and TSR jawans during Congress’ agitation against the TMC CET.
