Rs 30 Lk ransom demand for abducted businessman

Agartala, Jul 06, 2011 : Assam based miscreants demanded Rs 30 lakh ransom for releasing Tripura based businessman, police said.

According to report, Murtaja Ali, resident of Dharmanagar of North Tripura engaged in transport and stone-chips business went missing from Badarpur on June 29 in South Assam. After six days his family received first ransom call from the miscreants last night.

The unidentified kidnappers demanded Rs 30 lakh as ransom and assured that Murtaja was safe in their custody but unless they would be paid soon, he could be killed, police said quoting the family sources.

Murtaja had partnership in business with Badarpur based few individuals.
