Agartala, Aug 17, 2011 : The monsoon session of Tripura legislative Assembly would begin from September 2 at the new assembly building here at Capital Complex.
This will be the first sitting of the House in the new Assembly building.
Tripura cabinet on Tuesday decided to begin the session of the House from September 2. The business advisory committee of the assembly will meet in the last week of August to fix the working days of the session.
Sources said, monsoon session of the assembly is likely to witness uproarious scenes as opposition Congress would raise several issues including large scale violence on July 10 and 11 last over Common Entrance Test (CET) of Tripura Medical College and killing of innocent youth, Papai Saha by TSR firing.
Besides, Congress legislators are also expected to bring up issues of relating to vacant ST seats in the AGMC, Rs 60 crore on VAT exemption by the state government to BHEL for Palatana Power project increase of women related crimes across the state and recent spurt of militant’s activities in some remote areas.
