Agartala, Aug 04, 2011 : Five Junior achievers of Tripura Athletics team were selected for East Zone this year. They will fight in the upcoming Inter Zone Athletic Championship in Bhopal this month.
The East Zone team were selected from just conclude zonal tournament in Kolkata. Selected five athletes are Purabi Debnath, Minati Sinha, Prinka Pal, Puja Bhowmik and Rakesh Das.
In the East Zone tournament, Tripura bagged three gold, two silver and four bronze medals. Purabi bagged two gold medals from discus and shot-put event while Minati clinched another from long jump.
