Agartala, Aug 28, 2011 : The 6th All Tripura Open Mega Quiz was inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar organized by northeast's premier news website tripurainfo.com on Sunday in the Agartala Town hall.
At 12.40 pm, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar formally inaugurated the Mega Quiz.
Earlier, more than 800 quiz enthusiasts’ participants take part in the screening test in pairs from 10.30 am.
A total of 432 pairs of quiz enthusiasts have sit for screening test. The preliminary quiz round had begin at around 11 am with 16 best teams selected from the screening test, intersperse by audience rounds.
Chief Minister in his inaugural speech applauded the organiser for organising such mega event of knowledge since 2005.
“Education must be for the welfare of country, society and the innovation of knowledge of should also spread for welfare of human being’, said Sarkar.
Earlier, in the inaugural programme, Dr P K Basu, Director of NIT-Agartala, Prof Arunodhoy Saha, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura Central University, PCCF R L Srivastava also delivered their speeches and appreciated the tripurainfo.com’s efforts for expansion of knowledge.
Later, in the inaugural programme, tripurainfo team donated the money collected from the fees to the Chief Minister's relief fund .
It may be recalled here that, all Tripura mega Quiz happens to be the state’s biggest open quiz competition. There are four quiz masters- Abhijit Bhattacharya, Nandu Panicker, Anil Raja Vijan and Bharat Jain-this time.
There is also being special rounds for students and audience on environmental pollution, disaster management, global warming, Right to Information and HIV-AIDS in the real battle of intelligence.
There are also be a raffle of Rs 10,000.00 (Rs Ten thousand) only and four more prizes with Rs 2000 each. Besides, attractive prizes for participants as well as audience are also given there.
The winners will be awarded with laptops, desk-top computers and mobile handsets beside cash in a raffle.
