Agartala, Aug 09, 2011 : Tripura home department has assigned nine experienced police officials including Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors to CID for speeding up the investigation process of July 10-11 violence in Agartala.
“The newly posted investigation officers have reportedly taken over the formal charge of five cases on the spate of incidents on July 10-11 on Tuesday”, official sources here said on Tuesday.
The CID was overburdened with the investigations into NBFCs and other important cases.
State government had ordered a CID probe into the series incidents of July 10-11 in the wake of the demand of opposition.
Altogether, five cases were filed at East Agartala and West Agartala police stations following the July 10-11 incidents in which over 100 people including Congress supporters, police personnel, passers by and scribes were injured beside tragic death of a youth Papai Saha.
