Agartala, Aug 08, 2011 : The fate of high power transmission line between Palatana power project, Tripura and National Power Grid, Bongaigaon, Assam is likely to be decided by September next.
Official sources here on Monday said, “The North Eastern Regional Power Committee would meet soon to decide on 650 km transmission line for the distribution to North eastern and other states”.
The 726-MW gas-based OTPC power project would start generation by February 2012 as declared by the ONGC CMD AK Hazarika.
“A technical experts meet on power transmission from the Palatana project to other states has already held here days before”, said TSECL Director (Technical) K Chakarborty over telephone.
Meantime, the plan is already finalized at the meeting of experts. “But the final decision would be taken at the NERPC meeting where NE-regional power ministers are members”, officials here added.
Tripura will get 196 MW of 726 MW while Assam the highest of 240 MW besides Nagaland, Meghalaya and Manipur 27 MW, 79 MW, 42 MW respectively and OTPC 98 MW from Palatana power project.
